Sometimes their are events I just can’t attend, because there maybe another event that same weekend someplace else or for me a lot of times money is just short and I can’t attend.I am very fortunate thou to have great friends that want to share in our message and help give back. It’s important that we reach as many folks as we can and the Shelby’s Hot Rod Roundup is one way we create advocates and gain support, plus I really enjoy making the awards, searching out great people and killer cars.By presenting the roundup award we hope the folks picked return to their own community a little more informed on Shelby’s Way and “Bringing Awareness to Suicide Prevention”. My good friend and Brother in life helped out this year making our pick from the Frog Follies Rod Run in Evansville,Indiana here is is story…..
John Greenfield wrote: “The Evansville Frog Follies is very special to me. My Dad started taking me to this show when I was 4 or 5 years old and I have not missed a show yet. This show started my passion for hot rods and street rods, so it is a honor to pick out the Shelby’s Hot Rod Roundup winner. I knew I would fine a winner out of almost 4,000 cars and trucks, but how can I pick out just one? Mark Cain gave me advice saying, “you will know what it is when you see it”. Well when I walked past this 1932 Ford Cabriolet owned by John Hill of Greenwood, In, I stopped dead in my tracks. The car itself is rare and there is no reproduction bodies I know of. The car looks like it came straight from 50’s and 60’s during the prime of hot rodding. The stance is prefect along with the wire wheels with the red pinstripe. The interior sets this car off beautifully. It is powered by a 327 Chevy. John is a very humble guy and was shocked to win an award. He pointed out flaws and scratches on his car with me and I asked, is it a driver? His quick response was, YES! And that is what it is all about. These cars were made to be driven and enjoyed. Enjoyed, just like life it’s self should be and that is what Shelby’s Way message is all about. So this is my Shelby’s Way Hot Rod Roundup Frog Follies pick.”
